A local non-profit, we seek a PART-TIME FOOD SERVICES COORDINATOR-CAFETERIA to monitor, supervise, and assist with planning, stocking, and functions of a small food service cafeteria that operates 7 days a week.
Assist with organizing shifts.
Supervise assigned men and women from The Path's New Life Program with prepping and cooking for breakfast, lunch, and dinner shifts, with additional ala carte items.
Provide feedback for ordering and maintaining food inventory.
Use farm-fresh food from The Path's farm and local Food Bank resources.
Maintain health standards for cooking, food storage, sanitized utensils, kitchen and dining area.
Additional responsibilities (Food Bank and other community organizations) as needed.
M-F, but there is also an option for Saturdays (will be determined at interview).
You'd be working with our case managers, Client Services Administrator and other leaders, as well as interacting with the general public.
LOCATION AND RESOURCES:
The Path rescue mission's campus is located in Beverly Hills, FL.
The cafeteria is a renovated restaurant on the property.
There is a commercial kitchen, gas grill outside the kitchen, walk-in freezer, dry goods storage area, hot and cold serving tables, glass refrigerated cases for beverages, condiments, etc.
and dining areas for men, women and children at The Path plus approved staff or guests.
RESPONSIBILITIES/SKILLS Coordinate, supervise and participate as required in the preparation, cooking and serving of food.
Prepare foods as needed.
Stock & re-stock 'grab n go' items (packaged food, snacks, bottled beverages, cereal pkts, etc).
Prepare and maintain necessary records and files.
Fill out food production reports, complete roster sheets.
Identify problems and suggest changes in methods and procedures.
Open kitchen, set up equipment, prepare cafeteria for serving.
Supervise client teams in food service operations, including food prep, cooking, proper food storage, kitchen and food clean up.
Assist with food service records, food orders, and food inventory.
Maintain consistency in food preparation and service to clients and approved personnel (employees, volunteers, visiting family members, etc).
Prepare equipment for food preparation and monitor refrigeration equipment.
Recommend items for order (cafeteria supplies and food items).
Prepare food item orders as needed.
Coordinate efforts with staff and support personnel, which may include delivery, maintenance, security, clean up.
Supervise cleaning and sanitizing of eating utensils, counters and equipment.
Receive and check food delivered to the rescue mission campus (if applicable).
Attend meetings as requested.
Perform related work as required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or GED, and min.
2 yrs of food service supervisory or shfit supervision experience.
Must have demonstrated experience as an on the job supervisor with experience in school or hospital food services, or other similar food service.
Must have valid food handling certification issued by the local health department (we will assist with recertification or first- time certification if needed).
A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS General knowledge of the preparation, cooking and serving of food in large quantities.
General knowledge of food quality and values.
Some knowledge of special dietary requirements; General knowledge of the practices used in receiving and storing food in large quantities.
General knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety measures used in food handling and in the operation.
Cleaning and care of utensils, equipment and work area.
Ability to supervise the work of others.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with rescue mission staff, volunteers, and clients.
Able to maintain control and resolve conflicts.
The ability to work with others and the ability to address customers and staff in a pleasant, courteous manner.
Must be organized and be able to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Correctly complete reports and documents in a timely manner.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Some minor lifting, walking, moving, carrying, bending, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to stand for long periods of time and withstand heat.
